The facilities on this camp site are truly outstanding. The reception is staffed 24 hours a day and the staff are multilingual and very happy to help you whatever the you need to know. The gated entrances to the site have 24 hour guards as well as nightly patrols for your security. Internet computers are available in reception for a small charge,or if you prefer to bring your own laptop you can take advantage of the Wifi access for a small fee.
Two well stocked supermarkets provide all the household and grocery needs, and the two on site bakeries ensure that the bread is always fresh and readily available. The newsagents stocks English magazines and newspapers as well as gifts and cards. There are several shops stocking local products and gifts, a beauty parlour, hairdresser and cycle hire shop. The launderette is well equipped with washers and driers and conveniently sited next to the Long Bar so you can have a glass of wine, relax and wait for your washing to be done - how civilised!
In the main reception area you will find the Excursions Office offering outings to many places of interest for those who do not wish to drive themselves. The Little Train stops at the camp site to take you to the hillside village of Grimaud with its museum, castle and windmill. This is a separate location to Port Grimaud which is just across the road from the campsite.
There is an excellent fast food and sandwich bar on site offering everything from a baguette to a full English breakfast, it also sells roast chickens, pizzas and of course chips! There are two restaurants, a pizzeria, tapas bar, and another takeaway ensuring that you never need to be hungry!
When strolling around the camp site you will come across several remarkable buildings, you will be most surprised to find out that they are toilet and shower areas. The shower blocks are all built to a theme design and the nearest to our mobile homes is called Luxor because it is designed and decorated to resemble an ancient Egyptian temple. These buildings are truly a work of art and are among some of the most photographed places by holiday makers. A resident cleaner ensures that they are always kept scrupulously clean. They are divided into single sex areas each having ample toilets and showers with hand basins all with free hot water. There is also a separate styling area with mirrors, shelves and electricity points for hair driers etc. The choice is yours whether to take advantage of this facility, but from experience we can say it is much less stressful to shower sand covered children there!!
An enthusiastic Animation Team run the Kids Club, bookable at reception, and they also oversee many other activities. A full entertainment programme is printed weekly and is available at reception for your information so be sure to take advantage of this free facility. There are tennis courts,a football pitch, volleyball and archery butts all available for use just book at reception.
The Beach is only a short stroll away from your mobile home, it is cleaned each morning to ensure that it is safe and hygienic. The gentle slope of the ocean floor makes it a safe environment for all ages, and the warm, clear waters are a pleasure to splash and play in. There are several freshwater showers on the beach to enable you to wash the salt water from yourself after bathing. Hire a sun lounger or take your own and have a relaxing day in the wonderful and predictable sunshine, last year we only had 8 days without any sun throughout the season! The beach has two snack/refreshment bars conveniently situated on it to attend to your needs. Water sports are in abundance, choose from water skiing, pedalos, paragliding, wind surfing or sailing to name a few. Snorkeling around the rocks and jetties is always pleasurable, and I am reliably informed that the fishing is good. If you feel like a little exercise there are regular daily aqua aerobics and beach aerobics classes which are free of charge. Many of the activities are free but those which do involve a fee are reasonably priced.
At night the camp site comes to life - there are three bars on site, the Beach Bar, a sophisticated venue offering disco music and live lounge bar music. The Long Bar with its large sound stage offers a different group each evening, this is the largest bar with extensive outside seating. It also has seating in the interior where you will find gaming machines, pool tables and large screen television showing all major sporting events. The Sun is primarily a quiet bar/restaurant with background music where you can have a relaxing drink.
There is an outdoor theatre area where live shows are held on several nights, the Animation team also present themed shows and cabarets at this venue. A traveling circus visits once a fortnight in the peak season and there are occasional firework displays. If all this is not enough there is a nightclub, the Odyssey, which is open until 3am and offers disco music. This is situated well away from our mobile homes and offers no disturbance whatsoever.
Every year there is a Harley Davidson Rally this year it is the European meeting when hundreds of Harley Davidson owners gather. There are displays and the entertainment is superb. The event is from 22nd - 25th May inclusive.
